Janet Hall  MBACP
Accredited Senior Counsellor

Janet has worked for us since 2002 and specialises in a variety of different therapeutic models. Mindfulness, CBT and Person-centred approach. She offers great passion in her work and is committed and professional practitioner, helping many many clients over the years.

Person-centred therapy, also known as person-centred or client-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.

Janet’s role in this approach is to work to understand an individual’s experience from their perspective. The therapist must positively value the client as a person in all aspects of their humanity while aiming to be open and genuine. This is vital in helping the client feel accepted, and better able to understand their own feelings. The approach can help the client to reconnect with their inner values and sense of self-worth, thus enabling them to find their own way to move forward and progress.

Mark Hammond BABCP
CBT Therapist
Life Coach

Mark is a valuable member of the team and initially joined us in 2005. His therapeutic career took off in 2005 as he trained as a CBT Therapist. Mark has helped many people deal with their anxieties and fears. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a short-term, highly focused therapy that has been shown to be one of the best treatments for numerous psychological problems. Whereas traditional talk-therapy often focuses on early childhood, cognitive behavioral therapy is an active goal-oriented treatment aimed at solving problems and reducing symptoms by focusing on the present. Rather than repeatedly rehashing early experiences and past relationships, CBT helps people solve the actual problems they currently face, resulting in greater treatment gains in a shorter period of time. CBT doesn’t suit everyone, but for those it does, its a very successful treatment option.
